The Stretch series extends the studio’s ongoing exploration of materials behaving in ways that challenge conventional expectations. Rooted in the physical concept of Young’s Modulus, or the Modulus of Elasticity, the series examines how different substances respond to stress and transformation. Typically, materials such as glass can be stretched when heated to a critical point, whereas stainless steel or concrete resist similar forms of manipulation.

Prince engages these principles not as strict scientific parameters but as conceptual provocations. By pushing materials toward states that seem improbable or counterintuitive, Stretch reveals the latent possibilities and hidden flexibilities within their structures. The series interrogates the boundary between material limitation and artistic imagination, inviting viewers to reconsider the presumed fixity of the physical world.
